Does this mean the file is corrupt? Never seen this before..

So there's an avi that I was trying to copy to my external but it said my disk was out of space. Which was weird cuz I have 220gb left and the folder containing the avi was only 16gb. I tried to open the folder and everytime I do, windows explorer closes on me. I also tried to open it through WMP and wmp closes on me as well. What is going on?
