Hi all,

A check was cashed today on an account I no longer use. I forgot about the check as I had written it about 6 months ago. No big deal, but I'm wondering:

12/30/2009 Misc. Debit INSUFFICIENT FUNDS FEE $25.00 ($74.99)
12/30/2009 Check CHECK # 64 Check image available for viewing (view) $50.00 ($49.99)

Does this mean the check was paid by my bank? Would they charge me the $25 and show the $50 debit posted if they were going to bounce it? I can't get ahold of them. I'm on my way to the branch ATM now to deposit the money, but I figured I would ask.

normally they'll try to put it through 3 times, so they can charge you NSF three times
so if you get $75 deposited before they put it through again, then you'll be ok

otherwise after three tries they'll send it back to the depositor as NSF and you'll get to pay the depositor $25-$35 also for NSF

so it hasn't been paid by the bank yet, but they haven't sent it back (bounced it) yet either

It looks like they did pay it. A $75 deposit will put you back to 0 and keep the bank your friend.
