I ordered this book to get an overview of what scholars of public finance think about the ethics of taxation. What I got was a rambling, libertarian screed. Even then, I was willing to give it a chance, flipping to the conclusion. But then I read this:

"Another proposal that would place restraints on politicians who want to spend other people's money would be to pass a law making it legal to kill any politician who promises not to raise taxes and then votes to raise them."

Along with that gem, there is also a proposal to disenfranchise welfare recipients until they get off welfare.
