Does this make sense?

Ok at my school we have an attendance policy where if you miss more then 4 classes you fail the class.
Also to get into any building you must have a valid ID with a sticker of the current term.

Tonight my sticker came off and I went to try and get some work done. I was rejected from entering the building.

Here is my predicament. Tommrow, I have class at 8AM, and I have 4 absences in the class, meaning one more and I fail.

The office that gives out stickers opens at 8:30AM.

WTF does the office that hands out stickers open later than the rest of the entire college? I'm really in a jam, and I already emailed my professor, but he's a bigger dick than the security guards. (I could write a book on how big of an asshole this guy is).

My experiences suggest "no, usually not." Some campuses are better than others, but ever since 9/11 it's been impossible to use the words "security" and "logic" in the same sentence.

yeah, me either. the only classes that I've had that have had required attendance are the school wide required english and humanities classes.

It's a private art school, we have about 8000 students. It's not all that small, I believe it's the largest art school in the nation. Unfortunately, they own the press, and there have been stories of people being stalked by the school for bringing bad press against them. The President of the school is a greedy whore, she recently spent $10 million on an equestrian center with the schools money because her daughter likes to ride.

I'm in the film department, and one of the reasons I came here is becase of the equipment, they rent it to you free, but that's if you can get it. You have to reserve equipment like 2 weeks in advance just to get a c-stand (the most basic of lighting tools). I just feel like the budgeting here has gotten out of hand, and no one is willing to correct it. Alot of teachers have left in the last year becasuse of all the polotics, and I dont blame them.

I'd send an email or leave a voice mail for the Dean explaining how the procedures for the sticker thing and the timing is ridiculous and could cause you to fail a class. See what he has to say.

No, they make you swipe your card everytime you enter the building, and they check your ID then.

Exactly. Recently, students were to move their cars so that the parking lots could be plowed. We were to park in the commuter lots. I figured that they'd made arrangements for the commuters to park elsewhere, or maybe made other lots available. But I still called to verify that I could move my car a few days early. I was told, "sure, go ahead." So I moved my car to one of the approved lots.
Apparently no one told the officers that patrol the lots about this. I got a parking ticket, and had to deal with an attitude from the people at Police and Safety. 1) They told me to move my car. 2) I parked where they told me to move my car. 3) I parked in the time interval that they said was ok. They reduced it to a warning, which I still don't know why. I guess it is like in The Simpsons.
"Ok Simpson, where's the fire?"
"Over there." *points at police station*
"Alright, that's it, I'm giving you a 10-19, making an ass of a police officer."
Or something to that effect.

Was I being given a warning for making a logical argument that they couldn't refute?

You've got a lot more security than my college does. All our buildings are open-door affairs during regular hours. On the weekends, a few of them require ID card access via a card-swiper that unlocks the door. Classrooms are generally left unlocked, but computer labs require an ID card to get in.

These security measures sound rather extreme, it's not like you're in a lab handling radioactive materials, it's paint and film!
