These two arguments shares the assumption of mental representation of what is established in their experiments is tied to physical forms and representation of the stimuli (Holland et al., 1986). What it simply means is that learning is taking place at a conscious level.

"share" should've been used in place of "shares".
I think it just means that the experiment assumed that mental representation is tied to physical forms and representation of the stimuli. The words inbetween are just stating that the assumption is established in the experiment.
