Ok here is the deal.

I have my Duron 700 oc to 950. Runs great, played Dues Ex, Half Life, ran 3DMarks 2000 for over 8 hours. Ran flawless. So i plug my joystick into my gameport to play Motocross Madness2 and as soon as select my joystick(Logitec Wingman Extreme 3D)and click add, instant lockup. I reboot, it locks up before I get to the login. I got a new sound card, same deal, tried a different joystick, same deal. Could this be a power problem??? Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated as this is pretty annoying.

235 sounds a little thin to me. I'd go with a 300 Watt-er. This is the second flaky Abit KT7 thread I've seen tonight regarding soundcard issues...

just get a good brand-name 250watt. you be ok. but a brand-name 300watt would be preferable. you don't need more than 300watts unless u got a lot of HDs, multiple cpus and lots of expansion cards. the people here like overkill.

Lets be logical, if you're overclocking, you should give it every bit of power it can take - without gong to far. 300w is perfect.

Yeah runs ok up to 850, then it falls off a cliff. Sound works, but the seccond I plug in a joystick, kaboom! So you guys seem to think it's a power problem?

Yeah I tried 2 different joysticks. It can't be the game port because I tried 2 differnt sound cards, however I have not played with the Windows gameport settings(if any).

Mess with the gameport settings first just to reassure yourself that they're not the problem, then get a 300 watt K7 approved PS.

If you're buying a new PS, why not spend a few bucks more and get a 300 instead of a 250? Your PS is one of the longest lived components and your power demands in the future will more than likely go up, not down. 300 is more future-proof than 250, in my opinion.

Little suggest, if clockin it back to normal doesnt allow the joy to work, try if you have a spare AT psu or somthing, load your fans onto it, and lower drives, give dual psu a try before you buy a new one
