Does this make any sense?

So I want this cassette on a CD... I figure there should be Line in/out behind my audio player but no, only thing I saw was the head phones spot, can I take a wire from the phones spot to my line in on the computer & use some program to do this or should I give up now?

Use this cable from radio shack:

Connect one end to your audio player's headphone jack, the the other to the "Line-in" jack on your sound card. Use some freeware wav recorder to capture the audio, and as ironwing said, adjust volume on both ends to prevent distortion.

Also, record each song individually, for easier management in burning programs. (I'm sure you want each song to have its own track.)

I've done this before, but it has been a while.

Maybe I can find the freeware wav recorder I used before and direct you to it... I'm sure Google will help you find one faster though.

The mic input will overload too easily because it has a preamp on it. This gain will also amplify noise like crazy.
