I just bid on this with 30 seconds left, and then someone magically bid with 10 seconds left to 59.99. Who int he hell bids 59.99 if its not fraud? Check out the bid history...

EDIT
sorry for not elaborating more...

I WON THE ITEM
heres what happened
----
I bid 60.01....with 45 seconds left while there were no bids at $50
With about 15 seconds left, this new 0 feedback ebay user bids it up to $59.99...now who the hell bids $59.99 without their being a smelly fish?
I have a feeling the seller bid it up.
Is there anything I can report to ebay about this?

well there was probably someone with 2 windows open. one with the price already in & just waiting to press confirm. the other window with the timer. it happens all the time. last second bidding is what ebay is about. if you really want it, you're gonna have to wait till the last seconds to bid. or you can try FS/T and get one from your fellow ATers.

You're going to have to elaborate because your conspiracy theory is not "self-evident." I routinely snipe auctions in the last FIVE seconds.

You lost by 0.02 on a $60 item? Odd... I always though you had to be outbid by at least a $1.00, on an item of that value. What do I know...

not if the winning bid was placed before the losing bid, with a max of 60.02.

if the winning bid was placed after the losing bid, it would have to be by more than a $1.

btw, the bidding history on this does look a bit suspicious. Could be the seller or a partner placed the last minute bid to jack up the winning price.

Too bad we can't see when the auction started, and if the losing bidder's account was created after that date. Not definitive, but circumstantial clue.

I think I have figured out OP's theory of the PS2 auction conspiracy:

Seller shills auction, but being mentally challenged, does it in the last 10 seconds of the auction.

How's that?

So what's the problem in the OP anyway? You lost because someone thought the item was worth more than you did. You should be happy that you didn't pay more for it.

The whole point of eBay is just put in your Maximum bid and then forget about it. If you lose, that means it went higher than you were willing to pay anyway. If you win, then no one was willing to meet you.

People that wait around an try for a last second win and such just end up paying more anyway. You can't lose if you use the system how it's supposed to be used.

So? It was still under your max bid, if you're not happy paying that price, you should've bid lower. If they had pushed it up past your max, and you had lost, then you could've been upset (if it was the seller just trying to jack the price up).

You won the item. If you didn't want to pay that you shouldn't have bid so high. What exactly are you complaining about?

It certainly seems that the seller was able to see what your maximum bid was, and made a dummy account to pump it up at the very last second. I wouldn't have thought they could see that information.

Some of you have misunderstood the OP. He's saying that the seller jacked up the bidding, as evidenced by someone bidding $.99

The shill bid is counting on the odds that a real bidder would be a round number or slightly higher.

He is complaining because he thinks seller shilled the auction. That's ILLEGAL homer, and it should be obvious why.

Duh.
