Does this i5-2500K look uneven near the corners?

I just got an i5-2500K and it looks like the corners are indented a bit (kinda going downwards ever so slightly). Normally i wouldnt care, but i know this thing needs to have proper contact with the heatsink.

It's probably nothing but i just wanna be positive. Looks like maybe it was stamped on or something (an effect of the manufacturing process). Lemme know what you think, here are a couple pics:

That's normal. For better or worse, your temps aren't going to be any worse or better than everyone else with a 2500K that has the same beveled edge on their IHS.

Looks the same in this picture … avforums.

The actual CPU + graphics die is much smaller than the metal heatspreader that covers it. You don't need to cover the entire heatspreader with thermal compound.

You can see the actual size of the die relative to the packaging in this picture …i5-2500K

they did that because of how the heat sinks were coming bowed.

b4 when they had sharp corners some heat sinks wouldnt fit properly because of the corners unless it was a pure stock intel sink.

Realized on the higher end i7's where they assumed u would use an aftermarket sink, the corners were rounded so the bowing of the heat sink wouldnt mess up the contact.

Or thats what i heard.... dont quote me 100% but the corners started getting rounded at i7's on the higher tiers..
