im talking specifically about the morons who stop you in the hall... They have to tell you a 60 minute story about their life story just to get to the point about asking you to change the black cartridge in their inkjet printer.

I heard a good example this morning on the radio. They were talking about a musical coming to town that is aimed towards women. But they said some men come too. One of the actresses spoke up in a tone of voice like she had something very inciteful to say:

"The men laugh just as hard as the women [brief pause] if not as much".

Doesn't the first half of that sentence mean the exact same thing as the second half?

That is one of those "I am going to sound intelligent" lines, in a way to sound intelligent.
