Does this deserve good heatware or bad?

I just received a PCI card I bought on the forums here. The card was in good condition and well packaged. Plenty of padding. My only concern was that instaed of using a piece of tap to keep the card in it's plastic there was a piece of CHEWED gum! :Q

I sent him a PM but haven't got a reply yet.

Does it work?
Is it in good condition?

If so, then give him a good heatware and be on your way. Maybe he didn't have any tape handy and he wanted to get your package out on time.

If the card is fine, then +ve heatware. But if I were you, I would clearly mention in my eval about the chewed piece of gum. Yuck :disgust: Are you sure it was gum? I still can't believe someone would do something so stupid.

You sure it wasn't something similar to gum?

Like the stuff they use to hang posters?

Odd either way, but chewing gum just seems too outrageous.

edit: if the card works properly, doesn't appear to be damaged, and everything that was supposed to be included was included... well, then you should leave positive Heat. I think a little warning for the rest of us would be in order though...

How much flavour was left in it? This will determine +ve or -ve! :D

Yeah, I'm sure it's gum. Spearmint I think (no I didn't tast it, but you can smell it). It also looks exactly like chewed gum, you can see those kind of teeth patterns.

As long as the PCI card works just fine I don't think it warrants a bad mark but then again I'm not an experienced trader.

Where's this guy's freakin' common sense though ... chewed gum? Tape is like 49 cents a roll (maybe cheaper) oh no wait it's free, we have plenty of it at work :D

that would warrant a bad eval IMHO. I look at it this way, you dont know what kinda weird ass germs are crawling in and out of his orifices.

Unless he used some seriously expensive shipping service, the gum (presuming it is that) has been out of his mouth for more than 24 hours.

It's safe.

Odd, but safe.

It may be safe, but it's still gross.

actually, quite a few common diseases can live outside the body for up to a few weeks. Hepatitis B and C can live up to a few days each, for example.

Thats the way I see it. As long as the gum works and is in good condition, give him a positive! :)

Consider the gum a perk - you got a free piece of gum, right? ;)

Actually, I would leave a positive that mentions item was shipped in a timely manner - item arrived safely packaged - item works - BUT "Mr. Trader" please take note-- you should not use already chewed gum as tape <<I almost gave you a negative because your use of already chewed gum was very rude and angered me.
