Is there such a thing as a Socket 939 Athlon X2 5200 dual core? I think it would be 2.6 Ghz standard with 1 MB cache per core.

I think there is a 939 2.6GHz with 1MB cache, but it's not called the 5200+.
The Opteron 185 and Athlon 64 FX-60, both featuring a 2.6 GHz clock speed and 1 MB of Level 2 cache per core, were the fastest processors manufactured for this socket.

I believe the AM2 and 5000+ were launched at the same time...from then on AMD stopped development of the consumer level 939 chips.

The fx60 is also 2x 2.6 ghz. Only difference between it and an opteron 185 is the unlocked multiplier. At least, you would think so, right? Well, my old msi k8n neo 4 platinum supported cpus up to an fx60 or an opteron 180, which is only 2.4 ghz. I never found out why they didn't list the 185 as being supported, but I didn't roll the dice. I still blew the mobo, but that was due to overclocking newby-ness instead of the cpu.

2.6 is the highest-clocked dual core you can get for 939. You can get an fx 57 single core at 2.8 on skt 939 however.

Yes but we all know they can be overclocked past that :) My brother is still running my old 4400+ @ 2.8 which I gave to him when I went over to Core 2.
