Does this card have enough cooling>

Sorry I dont know how to post pictures here.

Here is a Connect3d x700 (ignore the link name - this is what the x700 looks like made by Connect3d) - notice it looks kind of basic cooling-wise with a 25cent fan and no heat sinks.

Here is a much better made x700 with a heavier duty cooling system, or at least having 4 heatsinks and one on the fan.

So does the x700 run hot ? Would the skimpy version of the x700 last a few years with only its little fan, provided I have an okay vented case.

Or are the extra ram/memory heatsinks just for show on the second link ?

Also Connect3D has a two-year warrantee - is this average for a video card ?

Please reply; Id like to get the Connect3D card tomorrow.

Ram sinks are not really needed unless you are doing extreme overclocking. I'm pretty sure that heatsink/fan should be sufficient as x700s don't run very hot. Get someone elses opinion on this though before buying it.

I really don't think that the X700's run that hot, but if you're doing any OCing, then definitely get one with a fan and RAMsinks.
 
Looks a bit weak (the cooler), but if your case is well cooled, you are probably OK. You can always monitor the temps and upgrade the cooler if they seem hot.
 
I dont mean to sway off topic here, but why would you want to get an x700? Unless you're getting it cheap, a 6600gt or a x800 is a much better card.

Probably because you can get an X700 for $75 and a 6600GT would cost nearly twce that, X800 even more. Not everyone is big on gaming you know.

I can get the Connect3D x700 for the same price as a (low-end) Sapphire x300 256mb card. They both work out to $100 in Canada.

Since the x700 beats the x300 its a luxury for me kind of.

I dont even game - just need a video card with TV-out, but maybe once I have a card set-up I will play Doom3 or something for like 10 minutes a week, very occasionally. Its something nice to have for PhotoShop too.

Still Id rather not waste my $100 on this x700 if its a sub-par manufactured card with no cooling and I have to glue on my own sinks, or get a blower for it.

I read on some website the Connect3D x700 runs at 80'C when gaming, so I wanted to check here first. or get some feedback.

Im still using onboard graphics and this is my first card for the PCI-E format.
