Does this camcorder exist?

I'm looking for a digital video carmera with an optical zoom that can also take at least 3mp still pics. Does this exist? It'd be cool to be able to do everything from one device, but all the digital video cameras I've seen in the stores only do 640x480. Sony had one that did 5mp, but $2000 is a little pricey. Does anyone else know of a product like this?

Most camcorders now a days do at least 1MP.

The Sony HC3 is a 1080i camcorder and does 4MP. We bought ours for £830 off the net. Good price imo. Video looks great.

Samsung has those really cool tapeless camcorders out, but they only do 640x480 stills. If they could get that up to 3mp, it would be the perfect camera.

heh, taking pics with camcorders suck.

i'd rather have the reverse; a digital still camera that takes video. however, this shouldn't replace a family vacation video or something.

Awesome one, I picked the HD3 up too. HD is the only way to go.

I like the HC3 too (fixed a red problem with the HC1 and cheaper.) Only downer, no headphone monitor or mic in. But then again, Sony wants you to buy the A1.
