I don't know if this annoys anyone but say I'm playing a baseball game on my television/XBox and a parent ora friend comes in and their like "What channel is the game on?" or "I didn't know there was a baseball game tonight." My point is, many people can't tell the difference between virtual reality and reality itself.
Casual and experienced gamers can tell the difference. However, someone who hasn't played many games can't tell the difference. To me, computer graphics still don't look anywhere near the real thing (eg: portrayed human characters still don't look like real human beings). To the untrained eye, I suppose computer graphics are just "that good."
Another example is Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Although ALOT of work was put into making this movie look as real as possible, I don't remember any parts that tricked me into thinking I was watching human actors/actresses perform. Of course, my mind could have been psychologically biased since I was going into the movie knowing all of it was CGI.
Guess I'm just anal eh.
