does the XFX 7950 card require motherboard molex connection

i have of course attached the 6 pin PCIe power connector from the PSU, but maybe it is not enough?

I needed to do that on the Abit AB9 Pro (with my 7950 GX2), but my Asus P5W-DH runs it just fine w/out a molex connector on the motherboard...

do all 965 boards have this motherboard molex power expansion, or is it existance on certain boards an indicator that the power supply from the PCIe slot is not that good?

seems odd to be having power supply type problems with a 7950GT, from a series reknowned for the low power usage..........

after updating to the F5 Bios and attaching the motherboard PCIe molex connector the PC now works fine with the XFX 7950.
