Does the x700 64 meg really lag behind the x700 128meg?

I know that it will be a little slower but how much is the real question. I was looking at getting the Acer TravelMate 4402WLMi as it seems to be a good performer and get bang for the buck but i want to know how much of a perfromance hit am i going to take with just 64 megs on the vid card?

Check out this Link for information on how you can expect a 64 MB card to perform. The model in the link uses a x600 so you know it will be a step above.

If you can find a benchmark on a 128MB X600 machine, that will tell you approximately the performance boost. It will matter most in newer, more complex games. HL2, D3, Riddick, BF2, etc. Things that have large visual textures that have to be swapped out a lot. To minimize the performance hit of the VRAM, just get 1GB+ RAM and a 7200RPM HDD.

Just to give you an example, the difference between a MR9600 with 64MB and an X600 with 128MB is 3DMark03 comes out to 8% (they are basically the same card..one is AGP, the other PCI Express).

I would consider that a negligible difference.
