Does the travel channel actually have any programs about travel?

Everything is about food, Man vs. Food is a terrible show.....Tony Bourdain is pretty good, Zimmerman is terrible. Is there ever anything on that has to deal with just traveling somewhere like Rick Steves Europe? I am always surfing channels and there is never anything geared towards Travel on that channel....They should name it Food Network 2

Yes, just like the History Channel has shows about history.

I do like Anthony Bourdain. He even went to the place in India where my parents are from (Kerala).

None of the specialty cable channels are very good at catering to their specialty anymore. Except maybe HGTV, though I don't actually watch that channel.

Actually, I don't watch TV that much anymore, period. Except maybe the NFL and a few select DVRed programs (mostly PBS and History International stuff). Everything else I get off the internet.

Doing a lot more reading now, though.

Tony's show isn't 100% about food. He is also a very interesting guy to watch.

Well the problem is that the world is finite. They've already made every show about every place in the world and its current culture. But most of the cultures are modernizing. Its just more of the same everywhere. Really they should just show reruns for the remainder of the channel's existence.

Haha rick steves has got to be one of the worst travel show hosts. Sure he's super popular but he's also boring as fuck and has the unique ability to make every corner of this wonderful world sound like the same bland touristy pablum.

I remember when it used to be the WWII Channel. Those were the days.
It was better then, at least there is enough stock material to work with. I watched a hour program on the life of Charlemagne. I don't think the producers even finished reading the Wikipedia article on him before they started filming.
