Does the Toshiba E335 lighting just suck or am I ruined by my axim (PICS)

axim is bigger, but not as wide
Compare the color of the two, the toshiba is washed out.

I have an e740 which should have the same screen. It looks fine to me so maybe you are just spoiled.

does your screen appear as mine does in these pictures? here's some more depicting the light. Trying to figure out whether I need to get a replacement unit.

My friend got a toshiba PDA, can't remember the model, but I couldn't stand the screen. It was for the same reason that you mentioned in the pics. The backlight just seemed horrible (you can see it on the bottom of the screen), it looks washed out to me, and just generally pretty crappy. Maybe it's Toshiba...maybe it's a dud...dunno.

I'm not sure what you are trying to point out. The e335 has a reflective screen with a side/frontlight. It's not a transflective screen like the Axim X5. It's supposed to do that.
