Does the speed of the Duron matter for oc?

Hey all, I need to buy a duron chip for the system I'm building but I'm having a hard time deciding on what speed to get. I've never overclocked before so I'm unsure of how successful I will be(I have the MSI Pro 2 A mobo) and I would rather just get the system up and running for awhile before I go back and try and overclock. For this reason I was thinking about getting a Duron 700 or 750 rather than the 600, just because if I don't end up overclocking I will still have a 750 rather than a 600. Is the 700 or 750 worse in overclockability than the 600 in any way? I don't mind paying the extra $20 or so to get a higher speed chip, but if the 600 is better maybe I'll just get it and take my chances since it's only $50. Any thoughts?

Depends on the batch the chip is made. Are you allowed to inspect the chip markings before purchasing?

All the chips have about the same limit. However, with the higher speed chip, you are guaranteed that speed (although almost ALL Durons can run stable at 800MHZ using 1.85v).

Like my main man jinsonxu says, its the week number that would matter most when OCing.

BTW, the 650s are as cheap as the 600s now.
