Does the rest of the world use horsepower as a measurement?

Since hp is based off torque, which is measured in lb-ft which is obviously not from the metric system, do metric countries use horsepower to measure cars?

i beleive US HP rating and the (British HP) BHP Differ by like 5 HP, so they are more or less the same

BHP is not British Horsepower.

They are one in the same.

BHP = brake horsepower

No.

Some countries use kilowatts, and others use a metric horsepower called pferdestarke.

1 pferdestarke = 0.9863201 horsepower
