I just bought a Onkyo receiver. (ONKYO TX-SR608)

It will be a few weeks before I can connect it.
The receiver has 6 hdmi inputs and 1 hdmi output.
This is the first receiver I have bought in over a decade and anything I do is a learning process.
If I connect my cable box and a blu-ray player to the inputs and the output of the receiver to the tv,,, will the receiver pass the signal to the tv when the receiver isn’t turned on???
Example. While watching tv,, and using the cable box, will the signal pass thru the receiver to the tv?
Thanks

there is an hdmi mode called hdmi standby pass through

when the receiver is off it will pass through the selected input

i don't know about the sr608 but usually there is a way to set a specific input to pass like "tv" "br" or even "last" which is just the last one used

Check page 52 of the manual under power control, note.

When the HDMI pass through function activates in standby mode, HDMI THRU indicator will light.
