Does the RAID controller on the EPoX 4BDA2+ also work as an additonal IDE controller?

Sorry if I've already asked this somewhere, I really don't remember it. If it doesn't work as an IDE controller then I'll just save myself $20 and get the 4BDA. :) Thanks!

I've had a 4BDA and 4BDA2+. There are a few differences besides the RAID. Some differences may be just the two I got like the HS and mounting

The 2+ has RAID (can be regular IDE)
Diagnostic LED display on the 2+
Came with the rear panel for the extra 2 USB ports, regular one didn't
Has a HS/Fan on the NB. The regular one had just a HS. I prefer the passive model (I hate noise)
The 2+ had a nicer CPU mount with a back plate.

I think the 2+ is worth the extra $20.

I know it's a bit OT, but does the SOYO Dragon Ultra KT333 have the same ability? Thanks :)

Same question for the gigabyte ga-7vrxp. My drives on IDE 2 and 3 are getting detected, but they're not showing up in windows xp. Is there something I should be doing with the drivers?

I think I'll get the 4BDA2+ for sure now. :)

bump... please help! I still can't get my IDE drives to work in the 2 raid slots, even though in the GA-7VRXP bios I set the 3rd and 4th slots to be IDE... thanks

You loaded the RAID drivers in Windows and have the master/slave set right, along with the boot order?

yeah the master/slave settings are good... what's this about the boot order though? I boot from my primary HD which is connected through the IDE 0 slot.

I'm not sure about all the new boards, but I know on a lot in the BIOS there is a boot order setting, so you'd need to put RAID or SCSI or whatever the specific setting is to not boot off IDE 0.
