Does the Q8400 support VT?

Strange, it supports VT, but not TXT. I thought those two often went together.

Intel really needs to get their act together, and stop crippling processors.

ALL 45nm Core2-family (including "Pentium Dual Core") chips should support SSE4.1, VT, and TXT. Only then will those features reach widespread adoption. Right now, Intel is undercutting support by not making those features ubiquitous, so software developers are remiss about implementing them.

What is this cpu anyway? Two E5200 slapped together?
I really hate the latest "mid range" quad cores, that Intel threw on the market lately. They took more then half the cache from the high end models, slapped the smallest multiplier possible onto them and sells them at not such attractive prices.

Just when the Q6600-q6700 where starting to drop in price, they were phased out and replaced with these bollocks : Q8200, q9300 and now this q8400.
I guess this is just the side effect of AMD still being unable to compete on all sides with Intel.

What exactly does AMD have to do with Intel pushing products with incomplete feature sets? I think you would be better off saying "I guess this is just the side effect of Intel not being able to compete with AMD for feature-complete parts at all price-points."

Well yeah, this sounds better. ;)

Go to 'About' tab in cpuz and click/save "Registers Dump" It'll give you a .txt file with more detailed cpuid info.
