Does the PIII need less cooling than the Athlon?

Is it less heat sensititve? I currently own an Athlon and my case sounds like a jet engine. I plan on building a second system. Will a P3 system end up with 5 fans like the Athlon to get acceptable temps? BTW I'm not overclocking anything. Thanks.

less heat yes i have one ugh pentium 11 700 run it on an abit mboard with 133mhz memeory stock multiplier it end up being like a960??
[its my stepsons] the duron runs faster doing seti@home 24/7
600 duron at 850...
both decent,right now i prefer amd..price performance....
but pentium 111 is better than old celeron lol
dont cheep out on a cpu cooler no matter what brand u get

A good HSF will last you a while, the one I got for my 233K6 lasted me through a 300K6-2 and 500K6-2 and probably would have worked on my Athlon.
