I was thinking about buying this board as it seems to be a popular budget choice among gamers and overclockers alike. I'd like to pair it with a Q6600 Core 2 processor.
However, ASUS's supported CPU list doesn't include the Q6600. Oddly enough the list does mention the QX6700, and one might think that the Q6600 would be supported since it's basically the same core (Kentsfield) albeit underclocked and with a locked multiplier?
So can I assume the Q6600 will work then and ASUS has just not updated their website? I've emailed them but they haven't replied yet.
Anyone have any experience pairing the two? Am I just being paranoid? Does one need to flash the BIOS for it to work? I'd hate having to track a Core 2 Duo and borrow it just to be able to do so!
