I have my eyes on the P4 & Asus P4S333 with the SIS 645 Chipset but if I have to buy another case/power supply I rather go with the Athlon XP and Epox 8KHA+
I think it needs a 12v "extra" connector. Which is a 4 pin square connector. I think they make a molex to p4 adaptor, I swear I saw them for 2-3 bucks some place. I am sure someone with a p4 will chime in...although not many admit to owning one ;-), pabster would be the exception to the rule.
If you get the ASUS P4S333, you will not need a different PSU as ASUS puts a standard 4-pin molex connector on the board in addition the the "AUX" 12v square connector, letting you choose either. Wish Intel would have thought of that one when designing the P4 specification.I Would suggest use of a 300w+ PSU though..
Also, as Darth said, you CAN get a molex-to-AUX12v adapter that will also work as well if you go with an non-ASUS board..
Thank you! I thought that it was a complete new crazy voltage that our standard PS would not be able to provide. Mmm, if it is just a molex to p4 adapter, then we could still consider intel. I'm tired of all their different sockets, slots, memories, AGPs, etc.
