Does the P4 3.06 Retail use a thermostat controlled cpu fan?

I have a Dell 4550 system with a P4 2.4 and really like how quiet the system is right now. I'm considering upgrading to a retail 3.06 and was wondering if the fan that comes with it throttles up and down in response to cpu load? I'm assuming that the fan on my P4 2.4 wouldn't be able to cope with the thermal requirements of the 3.06.

Thanks for any info.

I have no idea but my new asus board has "Q FAN" which can up and down the fan speed to load and man i love it! All i hear is the powersupply and when playing quake3 (3d game) it speeds up and loud but not that bad. When im done or changing maps it speeds down even know the cpuu is always 100% load. So it barly goes over 40c and its a toasty Duron 1300 i dont know what to expect from the cool running 1700+ im getting soon. Sometimes i think its smart enough to go up and down by cpu temp b/c while playing quake3 it can go to lowest speed than back up. its a 4500rpm fan which runs bout 2200 when @ lowest.
