I'm trying to get this jacket but I'm allergic to paying MSRP. I get sick if I don't get a deal. Any deal. Also, NYC instituted a policy where apparels less than $110 get no tax but everyone above has to pay. Also, I don't see this particular triclimate at any of their retail partners, not even their branded stores in Manhattan.

EverestGear carries Mountain Hardwear and also carry later year models for huge discounts. Got a Mountain Hardwear Hunkerdown Down Jacket reg $200 for $90.

Thanks. Moosejaw has the Peak Triclimate but not the white version I'm looking for. Also, I thought EMS was a branded store but they sell all types of gear. I'll have to check them out.

Fuck no they never go on sale. If they do the prices are raised up beforehand. I went to the "black Friday" sale yesterday at gander mountain yesterday because of their north face sale. Got a bad ass grey textured apex jacket but at the price of $150 after the $20 gift card discount. Normally I'm not the typical frat boy douche bag that wears north face but I LOVED the colors/tweed fit it had so I bought it.

I just bought myself a Timberland winter parka with a faux fur hood. Best damn jacket I have ever owned and it came in handy with that polar vortex crap that came down on us. Jacket was originally $300 and I payed $155 on ebay.

I used to buy LL Bean, but I need a 3XL tall and they don't have my size.

It's a good brand. I had their backpack. It lasted me through high school, college, and graduate school. That is why I'm looking at their jackets now. I had Columbia at one time but, because of the backpack, I'm looking at The North Face.

Sorry if I struck a nerve.

North face jackets are nice quality for the higher stuff but you're going to tell me a $75-$100 fleece with north face is better than a Columbia fleece? Mmmk.

Fwiw, I purchased some north face shoes on sale and they started falling apart within one month of me wearing them to work. So much for quality in their footwear.

fwiw - I'm not sure about their shoes and less expensive stuff but I have a Mountain Light Jacket that is 15 years old and going strong. It's better designed than the crappy version that's out now.

And it's been abused a lot over the years and with their lifetime warranty, I've been able to send it back TNF to have zippers replaced, cuffs replaced and when I thought they'd just do a mend job when I tore one of the back Gore-Tex panels they replaced the whole panel with a new one with the exact color. All of this for free.

North Face jackets were pretty good when I wore them in the 70's. Haven't worn one in a long time. I have an aversion to paying for things that cost more than they should because all the insert demographic here, are wearing them.
