ATI X800XL

i spent 6+ months outta the PC game so i wasn't able to read the articles/benches and keep up on the new releases and technology.

It's not an FX6800. It's just the 6800. ;)

For $150-$200 I woud look for a used 6800GT on eBay or in the FS/FT forum.

I dont know if they make them but from what i found is no real 256-bit cards in the 150-200 range for new (which i would honestly suggest given how much overclocking\flashing\rebadging that goes around now) unless of course you find a 6800gt that they say is new in package

6600gt 128mb 128-bit goes for around ~$150 and some for around $120 after rebates. The benches of the cards costing about $150+ more arent anything to write home about.

I personally would wait until you can put more around $300 into it if your really serious about getting back into gaming... say at least a 6800gt\ultra 256mb 256-bit models

You're gonna need a Hot Deal

Visit there regularly - at least twice a day - and look especially for the 6800gt and be ready to buy . . . GF7 will probably have some AGP versions on their lower clocked cards in your price range . . . eventually.

the other choice would be a used [preferable never-o/c'd] 6800u or [x800/850xtpe if you can stand ati] in FS/T
