Saw the preview on THG. Apparently it does NOT support the /6 divisor.. Which makes the KT400 nothing but a KT333 with AGP 8X.. Argh..we all know how much performance gain that will mean. Zero that is. So waiting for the KT400 was mistake. :(

I spose I'll just have to grab a NW + SIS 648 setup instead. Abit's 648 board is coming in in two weeks from now at half the price of an 850E board!

Well thanx jaeger!

I had a dirt cheap setup in mind. We don't all have loads of cash u know. I was thinking along the lines of an affordable kt400 board, maybe $120, $ 80 for the cpu and about $ 150 for 512 megs of cas 2 @ 200 mhz capable ram (overclocked). i think running @ 200 mhz fsb and @ 1600 mhz such a system would perform quite nicely. Good enough for me anyway. And I could afford it.

I think the bargain will be the new KT333 boards with the enhanced south bridge. :)

Who needs AGP 8X right now, anyway? I am waiting for the new Hammer boards for AGP8X. :D

Maybe nForce2 will hit the price/performance slot you're looking for. The memory performance is rumored to be very high, maybe OC'ing and 1/6 dividers won't be needed. :)
