Does the ink on Laser printer cartridges dry out if not used?

I was thinking of selling some Laser printer cartridges on eBay. They're about 3 or 4 years old. What are the chances that they are dry?

EDIT: I just found out that the cartridges use "dry ink".... still, will they work after a few years of being stored away?

If I'm not mistaken toner does degrade over time but if they've been sealed and stored properly they might be fine.

Toner is a plastic/carbon composite, so yes it can degrade. Plus most laser cartridges have an integrated drum which can also degrade in corrosive environments. It is generally recommended to give laser cart's a good shake just before putting into service. Nothing to lose by giving it a try. Best idea on printer consumables, is to only buy what you can use within the dating. A deal isn't a deal if you end up throwing it away.

They should be ok, just make sure that they are thoroughly shaken before use. Toner does degrade a bit. Maybe sell them at a good discount just in case there are any problems.
