Does the Ikea credit card app online not give instant approval?

I was planning on going today and picking up about $400 worth of stuff, figured I'd get an Ikea card so I can pay it off in 90 days with no interest, plus I'm going to buy more stuff in the future there. I applied online and the app said that I would get a decision in the mail in 7-10 days. The last time I checked, my credit score was about 780, so I should qualify fairly easily. This sucks.
 
Hmm, I just got off the phone with a CSR from the Ikea Credit Dept, and she said that although I easily qualify my approval is not instant for some reason and there is nothing they can do. WTF?

There goes my plans for the day.

Sometimes they credit approvals are instant and other times they are not. Doesn't matter how good of credit you have.
