Does the i$p watch how much you download?

My internet speeds are over 12mbs. I surf the web alot, download games from steam, and high def videos from dvix. I also have 4 other people living with me that are using the internet also.
I want to know if there is a limit to how much bandwidth you can use. Do they even care?
The provider I have is optimum online.

many of them definitely care and will screw you in some way if you go above their limit (charge fees, throttle bandwidth, suspend service)
in addition to wikipedia, try www.dslreports.com and see what other people say

If you are taking unfair contention which disrupts a stable service and/or eating into their profits, yes they will care. They probably wont give a damn what content you download, but rather how much data and throughput/second. Each ISP is different and have their own limits in place, some even enforce a fair usage policy. You are best consulting your ISP's website or an equivalently good source for more details for this.
