You think that a growing voting block that is predominantly protestant and an even faster growing voting block that is predominantly Catholic are going to become socially liberal?

Once secular (not necessarily atheist or agnostic) liberals are the minority in the Democratic Party, we will see a transition in the Democratic Party. The economic, spending immigration and taxation policies will remain the same (or become further to the left), but it will become more socially conservative in the long run. In essence, instead of a Left Social, Left Economic Democratic Party you will have a Center-Right Social and Left Economic Democratic Party.

All I can say is that if Ron Paul gets the GOP nomination in 2012, then Obama's portion of the black vote goes from 96&#37; in 2008, to <70% in 2012. The incumbent Obama won't be able to get easy electoral votes from a few black votes in each state.

It was not only taken grossly out of context, (considering the end lyrics specifically disavow taking such action), but it is also not otherwise representative of his work. As someone else mentioned, George Bush invited Johnny Cash to the White House to get an award, and his lyrics are vastly more violent than Common's. When that happened, nobody cared.

Also shown in the video is Sean Hannity saying he doesn't have a problem Ted Nugent saying that he wants Obama and Hillary to suck on the barrel of his machine gun, which is funny considering his current outraged swooning at Common. (okay, it's not funny, it's par for the course)
