Does the Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 SYS_FAN header support PWM control?

Manual says "supports CPU fan speed control" but isn't clear to me in regards to the SYS_FAN header. Below you will see the bit I'm talking about.

I ordered a Sunbeam rheobus that supports PWM and was thinking I could use the SYS_FAN header if I wanted to use that function.

What do you think?

I don't see any control for SYS fan in the BIOS, only CPU. There are a few settings for it but I haven't fooled with them yet.

I have my rear case fan on the sys fan header, but I may wind up putting the CPU fan in the last manual fan slot on my controller.

Could it be fixed settings PWM?
 
If the MB connector only has 3 pins, then it does NOT support PWM. If the MB connector has 4 pins, then is should support PWM.

But even if it does support PWM, Gigabyte MBs (I have owned many) do not allow you to control the PWM rate on the system fans as you can with the CPU fan. Meaning that they could run really, really slow and there is nothing you can do about it. I have to bypass my MB headers for system fans.

They both have four pins.

Guess I could split the PWM for the CPU fan to my controller if I wanted.
 
no, the sys_fan most likely isn't a PWM header. Usually the only header that supports PWM is the cpu fan.

I have a rheosmart and have it hooked up the cpu fan header and have splitters on all my fans. works like a charm. using 2 fan per header on the controller. for the rheosmart to work properly it has to be connected to the pwm supported header.

You can still use it manually without the PWM connected, right?
 
yup, each knob has a button that will turn the control to either manual or auto. and if the pwm isn't hooked up it will work in manual mode.
 
Nope, even 4-pin system fans on Gigabyte motherboards do not support PWM and do not have any fan adjustments in the BIOS.
