Does the General sell the Captiva or equivalent in the US?

I've driven a diesel one and while it didn't jump from a standstill, it was very punchy once it got going, excellent on the freeway and overtaking.

Blind spots were atrocious, but it's deceptively spacious for what it really a relatively small vehicle. Very comfortable ride too.

Economical in diesel guise at least, diesels are a good match for these kind of vehicles assuming you don't want to drag people off at the lights...

Looks like the Buick Enclave/Saturn Outlook/Chevy Traverse/etc...

As far as I know the US versions i losted above are Gas only. We, US, have higher standards for diesel and also people here liek to race from light to light.

What petrol motor do you use over there?

Here:

3.2litre V6, 169kW/297Nm here, 11.5l/100km.

cf diesel:

2litre 4cyl, 100kW/320Nm, 7.6l/100km in manual guise, 8.7l/100km in 5sp auto.

Large cars aren't selling for shit here in the states now. In fact, cars in general aren't selling here.

If he's describing it as small, it's not one of those. The Enclave is huge. That looks like the Saturn Vue (a rebadged Opel that I can't remember the name of).

The closest equivalent is, I would think, the GMC Acadia. And no, we don't get a turbodiesel, or any diesel for that matter here in the USA.

Interesting, thanks folks :)

To put the diesel performance into context, iirc the corolla gets 7.4l/100km.
