Does the Event Log show what has been printed?

I'm suspecting one of the employees to be printing personal items. Is there a way I can find out what he/she is printing? Both Local and Network printers.

If the network printer is through a server, then the server might. That's only if it's configured to record printing jobs in the event log.

If it is on a printer server, windows 2003 will log every print sent in the system event log. It will tell you the time, size of docuement and it's title, as well as who sent it. This is based off a windows AD domain witha single printer server running all the jobs. Local printers will not be listed though.

i'm guessing they are printing a lot of personal things or things that shouldn't be printed out at work.

How much personal stuff are we talking about here?

I print stuff for myself all the time at work...like coupons, sudoku puzzles, naked women, and other documents/articles I find on the net.

He prints hundreds of flyers for his band. Its a color laser and I've been wondering why they keep asking me to order more toner. I've caught him once already and made my boss aware of the situation and also told the guy to print it at Kinkos instead. He said he will but I'm not taking his word so I just like to keep a log.
