Does the E2xxx series extremely limited cache matter?

like, if you OC a 2xxx to, say, 3GHZ, is it going to perform similarly to a stock 8400, or, say, my OC'd 6600 in my sig?

Mostly interested in gaming performance, but including CPU-limited games such as SupCom.

It'll be about 10% slower than than your e6600 at same speed for games like supcom.

I've only done Intels linpack test on an E6600 and E2180. I can post the .txt results this weekend, but here goes off the top of my head:

E6600 @ stock = tops out 14 GFLOPS
E2180 @ stock = tops out 9 GFLOPS

E6600 @ 3.0 = 18 GFLOPS
E2180 @ 3.0 = 12 GFLOPS

Now, how that translates into gaming performance *shrug*

Certainly cache limits performance on Intel CPUs as they lack an IMC.

Gaming is one of the areas where cache can actually make a big difference, but I don't think there is a game where a 3.0GHz E2xxx will be a bottleneck.
