Does the Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP do 1080i?

No. The display is not wide enough, 30 pixels short. It will do 720p without a problem though. You will need a display capable of 1920x1200 to get 1080i.

Dell 2007=1680 x 1050.

1080i=1920 × 1080.

As Maxwell Smart used to say, "Missed it by this much."

It should do 1080i, my NEC does even though its the same res as the 2007

No. The NEC 20WMGX2's maximum resolution is 1680 x 1050. It will display a signal from a 1080i input, but it must downscale the image in some way to match the native resolution of the panel.
