Does the brand of Case Fan matter?

I have a choice between a Vantec Case fan or a Regular Case Fan with LED's. I can get the latter for much cheaper then the Vantec brand. Do brands matter when it comes to Case Fans or can I just go with the LED Case Fan?

personally, i don't give a crap when the fan costs less than $10..
it's prolly all the same,... only thing i check is 'dba', i don't want a 40dba 80mm fan on my case.

if you do not have any specific personal preference... anything is fine.

yes the quality of the fan matters if you care about noise. many companies lie about their fan specs.

but if all you care about is decent airflow, any case fan will do. I recommend taking the RPM numbers to make your judgement over the given CFM/dBA numbers.

Vantec fans aren't that nice anyways, they feel like rebadged generic fans. they have a lot of clicking noise in their motor.

Just make sure whatever fan you choose uses ball bearing rather than sleeve bearings. RPM outputs are nice also.

Or look for Panaflo's "hydrowave" bearing, which is sleeve, but it's done well, so it won't crap out on you like cheap sleeve bearing fans are likely to do.
