Does the Boston metro have the best higher education system in the union?

Probably the 2 most nationally recognized schools from Boston (in no particular order):
Harvard
MIT

But you also have lesser known schools like (in no particular order):
Boston University
Boston College
Brandeis
Wellesley
Tufts
Northeastern

One of these is enough.

your "lesser known" list is still very highly regarded. i would add at least UMass, Bentley and Berklee to the list of academic powerhouses.

I don't know about UMass. It's not AWFUL, but I dont' think it's on the level of say Bentley.



But yeah, Boston Metro is the center of the academic universe pretty much for the planet, not just the U.S. I love it. I'm within a 20 minute ride of all those places.
