Does the blow hole on the side panel hurts cooling air flow?

I got one of the Antech 1040B type case that has two 80mm fans sucking air out on the back, two 80mm fans in the front blowing air in. I have one fan on the side panel blowing air into the case right onto the video card which is hot. I know the air coming in cools the video card well. However, I wonder if the overall air flow will hurt the cooling more with the side hole than helps.
What do you guys think? What are your experience?
Thanks.

I have an Antec Plusview1000 with a fan on the side panel and from my experience it helps, definitely doesn't hurt. My chassis temp averages about 25C with it. A couple of weeks ago the fan died and my temp went up 2-4 degrees so I replaced it and the temp lowered again. It certainly helps the video card as you mentioned.

I put two 80mm fans in the side of my case. One over CPU and one over AGP slot. It has cooled my CPU and system down by about 4 C. Of course, that doesn't guarantee it would do the same for you case, but they made a big difference in mine.

As jojiboy nicely put it, it definetly doesn't hurt...

My server has an 80mm fan over one of the CPUs (the other side intake is over the video card). As a test for quietness I unplugged the fans for both CPUs and loaded 2 instances of F@H. The temp for the CPU under the side intake was 32C, the CPU without the side intake was 20C higher! :Q I now run one CPU with a fan and one without. 🙂

Moral of the story: side intake fans rule! 😀

I have my side fan turned around the other way, to suck the hot air coming off of the video card cooler out of the case. Oriented that way, I also feel it makes the airflow in the case smoother, with cool air flowing in through the front bottom and hot air coming out the back and side in what seems to be a fairly smooth river of air. Wish I had a smoke machine so I could trace the path of the air through the case and see what actually flows smoother once you factor in the CPU fan and everything.

I only one fan blowing on the video. It seems the hot air is hitting my CPU but it stays around 35C idle in the summer and 42C in the winter and I live in CA. I might try the sucking out hot air on the side later if I have time.
Thanks for all of the input.

air pumped in front/side, air pumped out top/back... its not really about some super well defined air flow.. it doesn't work that way

I thought I had it but now you confuse me more. 🙂
