Has anyone else seen this problem, and was it fixed in newer drivers?

The newer drivers do that too. In the Unreal based games, resetting the brightness seems to fix the issue, but I have to do that every time I open the game.

Have no problems with CCC, it works as it should. No problems with setting AA or AF or detail levels, everything works.

Don't like the idea of using .NET though, there's one crappy program.

No complaints here with CCC. It does take longer to load than it should, but other than that it works perfectly for me. However, if you want to overclock you may want to use something else.

I used Omega Drivers (which don't use CCC and install the regular control panel as well as ATI Tray Tools) when using XP but I recently installed Vista and have been using the beta drivers with CCC, it sucks plain and simple, can't wait till omegadriver guy releases Omega Drivers for Vista.
