Does the Asus P4B266-C monitor the internal diode or have a socket thermistor?

I just broke down and bought this and a 1.6A (and 256megs of Crucial DDR2100). I was curious if the temperature is being monitored with a socket thermistor or is reading the internal thermal diode?

(If its the internal diode, I can get back to my thermal compound testing..........:D)

BTW, anyone running one of these with a watercooler? How easy is it to adapt a holddown?

I just couldn't resist a overclock like that and I just really like the smooth feel of Intel. My friends Celeron overclock (700 @ 1100) is so much smoother feeling that it actually seems more responsive. It is slower in games, where I appreciate the power, but I don't think a lack of power is going to be my problem with this new setup............;)

Warcon I have a P4B266-c and had to use MBM to get internal temps
but it works fine and accurate. After 1 hr of Prime95 mine hit 36C, 26 idle
not bad for stock cooler. 1.8G
Just wish I could get it to OC.
109 is max on this one.
Maybe I need an Epox board.

Maybe its your memory thats holding you back (don't know what brand you have). Those temps are very reasonable (especially for the internal diode).
