i doubt they'll have free shipping.... but do they charge taxes in TX or is it CA only?? I suppose they can, even though theyre located in CA, but they have physical stores in TX so its the same entity... not too sure 😀

they don't charge tax in any state, the state does. the business merely collects it

i have to create an account first

yeah, it also sux living in the same city w/ the Dell headquarters ha 😀 ive bought so much stuff from Dell it pains for me to count the taxes

The rule of thumb is this: if a company has physical presense (store, office, warehouse) in your state you will be charged sales tax.

yeah really. i got in on that stacked 15% off coupon deal (thanks again to yellowfiero) with a $150 rebate on top of that and it was still hot after taxes but man... that 8.025% was an extra $100 or so.

taxes collected by dell are all go to round rock, which is why you'll pay 8.025%, even if you ship to an unicorporated address. this state has some screwed up tax laws

bn.com doesn't collect sales tax in texas, though barnes and noble has locations here. apple might be doing the same trick

I think newegg.com sells some Mac stuff... not sure if you can customize the systems or something, I just know they have a section for Mac's, might want to check it out

my friend actually has a tax-free account, but i think its going to be difficult trying to apply that on top of free shipping, 15% off, and various other personal/public coupon codes :Q

the tax account he has is for furnishing a small computer room so he uses it rather...er...liberally 😀

Since Apple has stores in Texas, chances are you will wind up paying sales tax.

I am in Georgia. Apple has a store here in Atlanta and when I order from www.apple.com, I wind up paying sales tax.
