Does the ABIT KT7-Raid support Athlon XP

Hi!

Despite the fanct that you could run you XP at 100FSB you still cannot put it into the KT7.
The problem is because the AMD changed the initialization timings for XP that come from the MB when it initializes the CPU (boot time).
Only the KT7A revision 1.3 with updated 65 bios revision can use those CPU's well.

You still can use regular athlons up to 1.4 on that board. Look into the faqs to see how to achieve stability with these too(it requires an bios update...).

For more info please take a look in this faq that will explain it better. FAQ. And hereis what you wanted to know.
Cheers,

KT7A's do not "Officially" support the XP's from what I have read - this only relates to the possible initial boot timing phase.

I have read that many are running XP's on KT7A's without trouble though - this is versions before 1.3

Supposedly after booting the CPU will work fine - assuming it gets the timing right.
