I have an Epox 8k7a and an 1700+ on the way that should be here in a day. I have read blurbs about how to unlock the chip, and I have also read that multiplier settings will only change with softmenu bios. Has anyone had any luck unlocking the chip with this board?

I have the XP 1700 unlocked with trace tape, and have not been able to change the multiplier on my 8K7A+. I even tried a Golden Socket that I have that made no difference. I finally just went ahead and ordered the XP1800 MP, which is supposed to be factory unlocked. I have read a post on the AMDMB forums that the XP 1800 MP WILL work with the multiplier switches on the 8K7A+ from a person that did it. The new revision MP compatible Golden Socket that I have worked with the non-XP 1.2GHz MP on a K7S5A board, and provided the proper 5 lead trace tape to unlock the processor if necessary. I suppose the pin layout on the XP prevents switch adjustments while the MP does. I will know for certain when my XP 1800 MP arrives. ;)
