Does the 8851 (G3Ti200) support 2x agp?

i just bought one and noticed it only says 4x on the box.. i figured there would be a jumper or something of that sort inorder to push it to 2x but i was unsuccessful in finding one... i went through the manual and still found nothing... maybe does it configure itself ?

I talked to gumz. What he ment was, his moboard only supports 2x agp, his manuel for the video card says you must have a motherboard with 4x. What he is asking is "will it hurt the 4x agp card, if he puts it in a 2x AGP motherboard. Thats the biggist part of his question, the second part is ................is there any chance the 4x agp only card will work in a 2x age moboard.

The MSI GF3 Ti200 specified is fully backwards compatible with prior AGO standards. It will run at AGP 1X/2X or 4X or you could disable AGP functionality entirely if desired. It is fully capable of running in both a 3.3V and 1.5V AGP slot if your board can cater to only one.

So yes, the card is most definitely compatible with ALL AGP previous specifications with the exception of AGP Pro50 and AGP Pro110 which are specifically intended for CAD workstation cards and not applicable to the mainstream.

It'll run :)
