Does the 815 Chipset AGP and PCI busses snap back to normal (33 and 66) at 166Mhz FSB like 133 does after 100??

thats it - do they?? thanks guys

No, it depends on your motherboard BIOS and what PCI and AGP divider do they provide.
On my SA6R motherboard the BIOS goes up to 1/4 divider for the PCI bus and that's it. so if you are going to o/c your CPU over 150Mhz, you will have to take the risk of running all your PCI devices at 37.5Mhz.
Same thing for the AGP port, i BELIEVE( correct me if i am wrong) most of the motherboards can only support up to 1/2 divider and 1/4 divider for the PCI. You do the rest of the calculation.

No they do not, the I815 chipset is not capable of running the PCI and AGP bus frequencies within specifications at a FSB above 133MHz.

At a 166MHz FSB on the I815 would yield a 41.5MHz PCI bus and an 83MHz AGP bus.

thank you both

yes, i understand the deal with overcloced busses, ive lived between 133-129-124 and prefer max 124 for the V5500

so if i get an 815, to get the absolute max out of a P3 on it, ill have to pick the CPU and stepping to hit 160fsb'ish at a gig (about an 833-66EB, dunno on the stepping, not posted on that one yet). But for stability all round, keeping a 124-129 on a 866 (cB0 or better if theyre available) will need about 150's

and thats the best your ever gonna get till the brand new P3 die just released gets into the shops allowing a higer base (in Mhz) to calc your 160 point from (P3 current process limited to about a gig, so 6.5x154=1G)

where do i get my Anand gold star for figuring that out? :)
